Permanent Protection of Kilarc Reservoir Planning Unit with a Conservation Easement

 

On October 26, 2017, a conservation easement was recorded to protect the Beneficial Public Values of the watershed lands at the Kilarc Reservoir planning unit. The conservation easement on the property is held by the Western Shasta RCD.

Final Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan Adoption

 

The Stewardship Council Board of Directors adopted the Kilarc Reservoir Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for the Kilarc Reservoir planning unit located in Shasta County, California, at its March 18, 2015 meeting. The LCCP describes how the proposed transactions and related agreements conform to and fulfill all requirements of the 2003 Settlement Agreement and Stipulation.

The draft LCCP was made available for public review and comment for a 30-day period from December 22, 2014 to January 21, 2015.

Recommendations

 

At its September 16, 2010 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended that PG&E retain all of the lands (approximately 111 acres) in the Kilarc planning unit, located in Shasta County.

​

At its February 16, 2011 meeting, the board recommended the Western Shasta Resource Conservation Districtas the prospective conservation easement holder on the property.

Public Information Meeting

The primary purpose of this meeting was to solicit public input on the development of the Land Conservation and Conveyance Plans (LCCP) to preserve and enhance the beneficial public values.
